Social Distancing. The new term for the "old" Coke song.
Remember when the advertisement came on with young idealistic people all in different national attire holding hands on a green hillside and singing "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony, I'd love to buy the world a coke and teach it harmony." These last three years have seen world-wide change we never could have imagined. Global warming, nationalism, economies, wars and genocide.
And so, if there was ever a time where we needed to come together, in order for us to survive, we must pull apart in small numbers to prevent the further pandemic loss of life and to protect our species. Maybe this suffering, which we are all doing simultaneously, will help us realize we are not so different from each other after all. This may what brings about our new "harmony" to save the planet. I wish it could have been easier. Never have we been able to communicate faster than right now. So why has it taken so long to get the point across? I'd just as soon shared an ice cold bottle. But that's the way it is. Write On!
