Schedule interviewing knowledgeable people for writing novels

What have you got planned for today? Finishing off your Peabody award application? No? Want to get out of the office? How about scheduling at least one field trip a week to find someone to interview to help you with resource material for the book you are writing?

INTERVIEWING the experts

As writers, unless we are writing non-fiction, there are a lot of things we know little about. As the saying goes, "Write about what you know." What better way than to increase the backbone of your book than by interviewing someone who has lived it, or has experience with the gadgets your character is dealing with. Get the details, have them draw pictures, take some quotes. Ask for second sources. By doing so, your book will be richer and so will the experience be for your readers. Write On!
